Author Guidelines

General Provisions

Didakta: International Journal of Social Sciences, Language, and Education publishes original scholarly manuscripts in the broad fields of social sciences, language studies, and education. The journal welcomes research addressing social development, educational policy, curriculum and pedagogy, linguistics, language education, literacy, discourse and communication, multicultural and inclusive education, educational leadership, and learning innovation. All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal.

Submission Procedure

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal’s Online Journal System (OJS). Authors are required to register prior to submission and to follow all instructions provided within the OJS platform.

Manuscript Format

Manuscripts should conform to the following format:

  • Paper size: A4, single-column

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

  • Line spacing: Single

  • Length: Maximum of 20 pages

  • Font: Times New Roman (11 pt for main text, tables, figures, and references; 12–14 pt for headings)

Title, Abstract, and Keywords

  • Title: Maximum of 12 words (English) or 14 words (Indonesian)

  • Author information: Author names should be written without academic titles; institutional affiliation and email address are required

  • Abstract: Written in both English and Indonesian (maximum 200 words), clearly presenting the research background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions

  • Keywords: Up to five keywords relevant to the research topic

Article Structure

Research articles should be organized as follows:

  1. Introduction – Presents the research background, problem formulation, objectives, and relevant literature review (15–20%)

  2. Methodology – Describes the research design, data sources, participants or subjects, data collection procedures, and data analysis techniques (10–15%)

  3. Results and Discussion – Presents research findings and discusses them in relation to theories, concepts, and previous studies

  4. Conclusion – Summarizes key findings, social or educational implications, and recommendations for future research

References

  • All references and in-text citations must follow APA Style (7th Edition).

  • At least 80% of references should be published within the last ten years, prioritizing peer-reviewed journal articles, academic books, and credible scholarly sources.

  • The use of reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote is strongly recommended.

Review Articles

Review articles should include the following sections: Introduction, Theoretical or Conceptual Framework, Discussion, and Conclusion. Review manuscripts must demonstrate a significant contribution to the development of social sciences, language studies, or education.

Checklist Before Submission

Before submitting a manuscript, authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript complies with these Author Guidelines;

  • The work is original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere;

  • References are complete and formatted according to APA Style (7th Edition);

  • Tables, figures, and illustrations are clear, properly numbered, and cited in the text;

  • Necessary permissions have been obtained for any third-party materials, if applicable.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
