Peer Review Process
All authors submitting manuscripts to Scientia Causa: Journal of Contemporary Pedagogy and Learning Science are required to complete a Statement of Ethical Compliance, available for download on the journal’s official website. This statement serves as formal confirmation of the authors’ commitment to ethical standards, academic integrity, and responsible publication practices. The document is not a manuscript template; therefore, all submissions must strictly follow the journal’s Author Guidelines.
The editorial process begins with an initial screening conducted by the editorial team. At this stage, manuscripts are evaluated for:
-
Completeness of submission
-
Compliance with formatting requirements
-
Plagiarism screening
-
Alignment with the journal’s focus and scope in pedagogy, learning sciences, and educational research
Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening proceed to the peer review stage. Scientia Causa implements a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to ensure objectivity, impartiality, and confidentiality. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in education, pedagogy, learning sciences, curriculum studies, educational psychology, or related interdisciplinary fields.
Reviewers assess manuscripts based on the following criteria:
-
Originality, novelty, and scholarly contribution to pedagogy and learning sciences
-
The rigor and appropriateness of the theoretical framework, analytical approach, and research methodology
-
Clarity, coherence, and logical organization of the manuscript
-
Relevance to the aims, focus, and scope of the journal
Based on the reviewers’ evaluations and recommendations, the editorial board may issue one of the following decisions:
-
Accept the manuscript
-
Accept with minor revisions
-
Request major revisions
-
Reject the manuscript
Authors requested to revise their manuscripts will be given a specified timeframe to submit a revised version, accompanied by a point-by-point response letter addressing each reviewer’s comment.
The editorial team of Scientia Causa is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and efficiency throughout the peer review process. Authors may contact the editorial office at any stage to request updates or clarification regarding the status of their submission.
