Peer Review Process

All authors submitting manuscripts to Devosia: Community Outreach Journal of Indonesian Movement are required to complete a Statement of Ethical Compliance, which is available for download on the journal’s official website. This statement serves as formal confirmation of the authors’ commitment to ethical standards, research integrity, and responsible publication practices in the field of community service and community-based research. The document is not a manuscript template; therefore, all submissions must strictly comply with the journal’s Author Guidelines.

The editorial process begins with an initial screening conducted by the editorial team. At this stage, manuscripts are evaluated for completeness of submission, compliance with formatting requirements, plagiarism screening, and alignment with the journal’s focus and scope on community outreach and empowerment.

Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening proceed to the peer-review stage. Devosia implements a double-blind peer-review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to ensure objectivity, impartiality, and confidentiality. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in community service, applied research, social development, education, health, economics, technology, or related disciplines.

Reviewers assess manuscripts based on the following criteria:

  • Originality, novelty, and contribution to community service and empowerment practices

  • Rigor and appropriateness of the program design, methodology, and evaluation methods

  • Clarity, coherence, and logical organization of the manuscript

  • Relevance to the aims, focus, and scope of the journal on community outreach

Based on the reviewers’ evaluations and recommendations, the editorial board may issue one of the following decisions:

  • Accept the manuscript

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Request major revisions

  • Reject the manuscript

Authors who are requested to revise their manuscripts will be given a specified timeframe to submit a revised version, accompanied by a point-by-point response letter addressing each reviewer’s comments. The editorial team of Devosia: Community Outreach Journal of Indonesian Movement is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and efficiency throughout the peer-review process. Authors may contact the editorial office at any stage to request updates or clarification regarding the status of their submission.
