Evaluation of the “Green Tent” School Program in Strengthening Students’ Environmental Literacy and Behavior

The SEHAT Program (Sekolah Hijau Tenda/Green Tent School) is an environmental education initiative designed to strengthen students’ environmental literacy and pro-environmental practices through integrated school-based activities. This study evaluated the 2024 SEHAT Program by examining its implementation structure, learning contributions, alignment with green school principles, evidence strength, and potential for generating sustainable outcomes. A descriptive evaluative approach using a document-based single-case design was employed, with the 2024 SEHAT Program Report serving as the primary data source. The analysis reconstructed the program through an input-process-output-initial outcome framework, mapped activities across cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and creative learning domains, and examined their alignment with the four Green School Quality domains. The findings indicate that environmental orientation, waste literacy and reuse workshops, recycled-art competition, environmental study tours, school gardening, climate-change education, and three-color waste bins were implemented as complementary learning components. The program demonstrated strong implementation evidence and diverse learning opportunities, particularly in teaching and learning. However, baseline and post-test assessments, repeated behavioral observations, waste audits, garden sustainability records, and institutional indicators were unavailable, preventing causal verification of changes in environmental literacy or behavior. Future development should strengthen curriculum integration, environmental governance, behavioral monitoring, operational management, and sustained community engagement.
