Publication Ethics

Profixa: International Journal of Economic and Business Research is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical responsibility in scholarly publishing. The journal follows the principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all parties involved in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—to adhere to these ethical standards at all stages of manuscript handling and publication.

1. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure that all submitted manuscripts are original, accurately reported, and properly cited according to established academic standards. Any form of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, or duplicate publication is strictly prohibited. Authors are required to:

  • Present research findings honestly and transparently.

  • Provide sufficient methodological and analytical details to enable verification and replication.

  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest, financial or otherwise.

  • Ensure authorship reflects significant scholarly or practical contributions to the research.

  • Confirm that manuscripts are not under consideration by other journals at the time of submission.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for evaluating submitted manuscripts fairly, objectively, and promptly, based solely on academic quality, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s focus on economics and business research. Editors must:

  • Maintain confidentiality of all submitted materials.

  • Disclose information only to individuals directly involved in the editorial and peer-review process.

  • Make editorial decisions free from discrimination, personal bias, or conflicts of interest.

  • Uphold ethical standards that support research integrity and responsible academic publishing.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to conduct peer reviews objectively, constructively, and within the agreed timeframe to enhance manuscript quality. Reviewers must:

  • Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents.

  • Identify and report any ethical concerns, including suspected plagiarism, redundant publication, or undisclosed conflicts of interest.

  • Decline the review invitation if they feel unqualified to assess a manuscript or unable to provide an impartial evaluation.

4. Responsibilities of the Publisher

The publisher, in collaboration with the editorial board, ensures that all publication practices comply with ethical standards and COPE guidelines. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing ethical complaints and investigating allegations of academic misconduct.

  • Implementing appropriate corrective actions, such as issuing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when necessary.

  • Supporting the editorial team in promoting transparency, accountability, and fairness throughout the editorial and publication process.
